RM83,500 business tithe to under graduates
Shah Alam: Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Berhad (KDEB), the investment arm of the Selangor State government, presented contribution totaling RM83,500 to 21 recipients comprising under graduates and a non-governmental organisation.

The cheque presentation ceremony was officiated by Suzila Khairuddin, General Manager of Finance and Administration and witnessed by Zaharudin Muhammad, Chief Religious Officer at Plaza Perangsang, Shah Alam.
Speaking at the ceremony, Suzila said, "In 2013, KDEB paid business tithe amounting to RM756,593.41 and today we redistribute 37.5% or RM283,722.53 to students to pursue their studies and construction of a mosque".
"The purpose of these contributions was to support the students’ tuition fees, where majority of them are from underprivileged families. A total of 3 students are currently studying in Jordan, Egypt and the United Kingdom, whilst the remaining 15 are studying in the local universities" added Suzila.
According to one recipient, who is currently pursuing a degree in Theology and Religious studies at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, Mohd Amin Suhaimi said, "My father is a disabled and working as a religious teacher with an income of RM800.00 a month. The contribution I received is timely for me to settle my outstanding tuition fees of RM4,000.00".

Meanwhile, the Treasurer of As-Syakirin Mosque, Taman Pahlawan, Teluk Panglima Garang, Abdul Rahim Mohd Zain said, " Our appreciation to KDEB for this contribution to expedite the construction of this mosque. We will seek from other philanthropist for RM15,000 to build a store and utility room for food and beverage preparation area ".
